The Buff Truck by Yum Yum Foods
Disclaimer - The restaurant in question and this review are entirely a work of fiction. They are excerpts from my novel called The Curse of Gluttony , an inter-generational battle between the old and new world of restaurant critics.
Sometimes food tastes better when it come from a truck, devouring it on the side of the road. In the case of the Buff truck, it comes in the form of a converted ambulance, giving it super kerb appeal. Every weekend you can find it parked up off Brick Lane, the eclectic melting pot of London, a labyrinth of surprises. A hotchpotch of flavour and delicious delights.
Two dashing young dudes have taken to the streets to share their passion. They look rather dreamy as they work the busy line, giving it rock star energy. Grill cooks are the new sexy, ladies.
We are talking chicken wings, boys and girls. Moist and juicy chicken bathed in milk, smothered in butter and cayenne pepper before being righteously fried. Its served with home-made slaw and corn on the cob, burnt and blistered on the griddle.
The real kicker though are the artisan hot sauces. Having spent a lifetime trying to find the right partner, they decided to make their own. And holy moly, they are banging. They rise all the way up the burny scale, until you get to the emperor. That is one bad boy, that was a stretch too far for us.
Sometimes you got to accept you are a medium gal.
The sauces are available to order now for home delivery. Use the code YumYum2024 to get twenty percent off.
We devoured beef chilli fries, spiked with jalapeño and cumin, a dribbly gorgeous mess of a dish.
They are alive to desserts too. We shared some Churros, fried pastry, crispy outside, with a heavenly fluffy centre, drenched in warm salted caramel sauce.
We wouldn’t advise it for a first date, as it gets messy, but maybe after date three you should be ready to hit up the Buff truck.
Much Love,
Poppy & Daisy
