The Labyrinth of the Spirits - Carlos Ruiz Zafon

One of my favourite books of all time is Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. The Labyrinth of the Spirits is the fourth and final book in the cemetery of books series, set in Barcelona. If you are a geek like me, you can even go on a tour of locations, I made it to El Quatre Gats a much loved bar for Daniel and Fermin.
It is written with an almost haunting melody. It is an electrifying tale of passion, intrigue, and conspiracy.
What Zafon does brilliantly is how he manages to bring so many sub-plots and twists together.
There are times when I can almost hear his imagination at work.
It is also a book about books. The cemetery of forgotten books is mythical, but one that you can relate to, in that over time most books end up there. How I would love to discover it one day.
I suggest you read all four, you won’t be disappointed.
